Care & Bible Study Groups

The Care Groups and Bible Study Groups enable members to study God’s Word in an interactive manner. God’s Word is the chief means of grace for us. The Groups study mainly the books of the Bible. This enables them to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord and thus grow as a disciple of the Lord. The Groups also provide prayer support for the challenges of life that the members face. In addition, members fellowship with one another and support each other socially as a family. In these ways, the groups fulfil the vision of the Church. The Groups meet on different days and time and it is mainly on the weekends. Please call the Church office if you would like to join a group.

Missions Ministry

We are a missions focused church in terms of missions giving and involvement. We give about 15% of our funds to missions and many members are active in missions work. Here is an account of missions as experienced by Lee Weng Kong.

Missions - Myanmar1.JPG

“I went on the first missions trip to Thailand 15 years when we visited Pastor Terry Kee in a rural church in Thailand. Subsequently, I went to Cambodia twice to volunteer at the LCS (Lutheran Church in Singapore) youth center VBS (Vacation Bible School). I also had the opportunity to journey to Nias Island (Indonesia) twice with my family to help out at the orphanage there.

During these trips, I helped out as GD (general duty) man, took photos and bought things to support the activities. Due to the language barrier, the missions teams utilized various activities to engage the young people and children, different from the traditional classroom teaching in church. I learnt that while we make detailed plans, they often change when we reach the ground. I don’t think I did much to save souls but I hope to have planted seeds in the process. I also learnt to be creative, to use local resources in our programs.

I am also happy to involve my family in the missions trips, especially to Nias when they had fun playing with the kids there. I hope they will learn to see how blessed we are in Singapore. One of the highlights of the Nias trip was organizing the Christmas celebration when we involved the local community to usher in the festive joy of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ."
